For many years, Kyoto Ceramic was a leader in the field of industrial
ceramics. When they diversified into high-technology products
and manmade gems, a name-change was in order and a whole new identification
system.

The centerpiece of our proposal was this new symbol--an abstraction
of the letter"K"-- designed to work with both the English and
Japanese names of the company. Graphically, the shape communicates
hardness, representing ceramics--the product still at the core
of the company's business.
